The Future of Commodore Crew

To Everyone in Our School Community (Parents, Students, Families, Faculty, Staff, & Community Members),

Tates Creek Middle School is developing a grant proposal to continue our 21st Century Community Learning Center (21st CCLC - also known as Commodore Crew), funded by the US Department of Education through the Kentucky Department of Education. If we are selected for funding, our 21st CCLC Program will continue to provide a variety of services to students in 6th through 8th grade and their families.

Students who attend private school and those who are homeschooled are eligible to participate in services at the 21st CCLC centers. Student services will provide academic, artistic, and cultural enrichment opportunities, including:

  • Homework help / tutoring
  • Academic intervention, including literacy
  • Academic enrichment
  • Arts Activities
  • Crafts
  • Physical education and wellness activities, such as basketball, soccer, or yoga
  • Clubs

Family services will include family literacy, parent involvement in education, and learning opportunities, including:

  • How to help your child with homework
  • Job Skills
  • Family Literacy activities
  • Arts Activities
  • Internet Safety
  • Cooking
  • Crafts
