About Our School

Our middle school is part of the Tates Creek complex, which serves southeast Fayette County. All students take P.E. and a foreign language, rotating every other day, and our performing arts department features chorus, speech, and drama. Tates Creek Middle also boasts a vibrant club sports program, including lacrosse. In efforts to become more green, TCMS has a rain garden on campus and students can participate in a summer environmental awareness program.

What makes our school special

Tates Creek was the first middle school in Kentucky to be approved for the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme. This schoolwide program provides a framework of academic challenge that encourages students to embrace and understand the connections between traditional subjects and the real world, and to become critical and reflective thinkers.
